Harwood Engineering Company offers two types of pressure transducers; the Manganin® cell and the strain gage load cell. Both are available for pressure up to 200,000 psi for both liquid and gas service. Pressure transducers are sold with 10-point calibration against a NIST traceable primary or secondary standard. Also available are Precision Digital panel meters for pressure indication and/or control.
Strain Gage Load Cell
The strain gauge load cell is extremely reliable and durable. This rugged pressure transducer is more suitable for general field applications.
The Manganin® cell has greater accuracy but is more delicate. It is predominantly used as a precise calibration instrument in controlled environment laboratory settings.
The Manganin® cell can be used with polar or non-polar fluids. Accuracy is ±100 psi when calibrated against our secondary standard, and ± .02% of reading when calibrated against our primary standard DWT-1000.
Harwood’s calibration lab uses a DWT-1000 as its primary standard calibration system. The secondary standard calibration system uses a Manganin® cell as the transfer standard- which itself is calibrated against the DWT-1000.
