Pressure Vessels | Laboratory
Description
The vessel is made of heat treated E-4340 bar, and autofrettaged to greater than 200,000 PSI hydraulically. Instead of electrical leads, the vessel's closure can carry a window of about 1/8" viewing space (taking about 1.5" from the working cavity) or the closure can serve as a die for hydrostatic extrusion, or it can simply be blank. The vessel can be purchased with apparatus to do PVT studies, or to measure viscosity as a function of pressure and temperature, using the falling body technique; or it can be fitted with a small furnace, when used with inert gas, for temperatures up to 1650°C (3000°F). In the last case, because of the energy contained in the vessel, great care needs to be taken in the design of the installation.
